About this place
A book, a coffee and corned beef and cheese toast: at Yuru Gakuto Cafe, reading alone is one way to spend your time, while sharing a table can bring conversation. The toast comes with soup for 1,200 yen. One customer enjoyed it with honey lemonade while reading, making it a good option when you want to take your time over food and a drink.
For a more substantial dish, there is bokkake fried rice. Bokkake is a Kobe speciality of beef tendon and konjac simmered in a sweet-and-savoury sauce; the fried rice also comes with soup. For something sweet, KIRIE honey toast is available with or without ice cream. The version with ice cream, honey and ice cream costs 1,500 yen; without it, the price is 1,000 yen. One customer also praised the combination of honey and ice cream.
Drinks include honey lemonade made with domestic KIRIE honey, smoked tea and oolong tea scented with osmanthus. A customer who tried the smoked tea said its smoky aroma made an impression. On weekday afternoons, a set lets you compare 4 kinds of tea, so tea can be a reason to stop by in its own right.
The set menu adds a playful touch. The “Happy Again! Yuru Gakuto Set: Ume” pairs your choice of toast with 5 quiz cards for 1,350 yen; the “Matsu” set also lets you choose a drink and one dish for 2,400 yen. Some customers have enjoyed lively conversation at shared tables, while others have read at individual seats. Whether you prefer your own company or a chat with fellow diners can depend on the day.
